Dylan Griffith, Art Director, MTV
World Design Studio/Milano:
“Getting Wevie onboard the good ship WDS (MTV World Design Studio) in 2010 was a revelation.
Being a frustrated musician I often struggle to convey the required direction for a piece of audio – at least what comes back generally needs a fair bit of tinkering.
Wevie however nailed our first collaboration (on MTV HITS) first time ’round, no questions asked. He then went on to nail the remaining 4 x HITS idents… and started showing off a bit by doing the same for our recent collaboration with ‘I Love Dust’ for the MTV & 55DSL ident! This man ‘gets it’.”
Olly Reid, Director & Animator, Hothead Films:
“I’ve worked with Mr.Boorman on about 50 – 60 different projects over the last few years. He’s basically the first person I think of when a new project comes in. That way I know no matter what we do visually, the audio’s going to be amazing. I know that no matter what I throw at Al in terms of style, he’ll come back with a unique and imaginative sound. Respond intelligently to a brief, and happily cope with overly vague or overly tight direction. I almost want to give him a bad review so I can keep him to myself! But that would be a waste of a huge talent. USE HIM NOW!”
Professor Liz Aggiss, Independent Award Winning Screen Dance Director/Choreographer.
“Collaborating with Alan Boorman has been a dream. His intuitive ability and aptitude in delivering an original and eclectic score, his understanding and skill in Foley and invention, and his all round creative flexibility, ensure his contribution is key to the final product. Alan is a rhythmic Houdini, funny, intuitive, spontaneous, sensitive, and stylish.”
Jason Delahunty, Senior Producer, E4
“E4 have commissioned several bespoke idents/stings and promos with Hothead Films.
On each occasion we have used Wevie for the music and sound design and are always delighted with the results.
After an initial brief they take that on board and work alone to make the work come alive, whilst retaining all that is E4 – Fun, Irreverent and not taking itself too seriously…”
