NTS Radio | Guest mix
NTS radio is renowned for offering new perspectives on music - broadcasting a hugely diverse and carefully curated selection of music from over 50 cities around the globe, live 24/7, it reaches the parts other radio fails to.
One such part was well and truly reached when I was invited to create a guest mix for them - the results of which you can find by clicking here: NTS Wevie Stonder guest mix - "Hyperboredom Vol. 1"
I went a couple of steps further than the usual, and created a collaged together hour of exclusive edits, sketches,
original spoken word and sound design - mixed in and out of existing music from Art Of Noise, Chas & Dave, Ennio Morricone, Aphex Twin, Ronnie Barker, Moondog, Hudson Mohawke, Delia Derbyshire and Ken Nordine to name but a few..
As the title suggests, it was all based around the theme of Boredom. Something which I find inspires the best types of creativity.. Bored of something? Then make something better.
"..It starts off comparatively sedately with some wibbly synths and some narrative delivered in a prim English accent reminiscent of British 1950s children’s TV shows, but rapidly explodes into a brain-melting collage of all kinds of chaos.. this belongs to the cut-up lineage that can be traced back to William Burroughs’ tape experiments of the late 50s and early 60s.." - Aural Aggravation
